MODIFIED ENGINE SPECS, MANAGERIAL STAFF CHANGES FOR NEW EGYPTSPEEDWAY IN 2013

New Egypt, NJ-- With the final race of the 2012 season scheduled for Saturday, October 27, the future of New Egypt Speedway is becoming clearer. Fred Vahlsing, now sole-owner of the speedway, has announced the first steps of his five-year plan for revitalizing and growing the race track.

First are a series of strategic managerial changes, designed to bring a fresh perspective to marketing the track to current and perspective fans. Allyse Wolfinger has been promoted to Vice President of Operations/General Manager and Michael Mehedin joins the team as Assistant General Manager. Both Allyse and Mike will focus their efforts on marketing, advertising and driver relations.

The second step is a change to engine specifications for the Modified division. Starting in 2013, all Modified cars are required to use only DIRT or PA-Spec 358 small block engines with sail panels. "I know that this decision might not please everyone at first," says Vahlsing. "However, I am confident that this change will benefit all parties involved and ensure the future growth of New Egypt Speedway." Drivers that purchase a New Egypt Speedway license will continue to receive a driver pass for all Speedway sanctioned events. No changes are scheduled for the Sportsman, FASTRAK Crates, Street Stocks (formerly Outlaw Stock), or FASTRAK Late Model series.

Last is the creation of a rules committee. These individuals will review the current rule book and make minor adjustments to any rule that is deemed to have a "gray area," eliminating the ability for rule interpretation.
